1. For What It’s Worth                                                                                   - 282 Days

Well, It’s Monday once again and here I am in the office back in my cube for another fun filled week at the workplace. Not much going on here yet at 0647 hours.

This weekend I guess I was pretty lazy to tell you the truth.  I did some laundry and that was about it.  I did take Snoopy out on Friday night for a few hours to our local watering spot.  She does enjoy meeting and greeting all of her adopted family members and friends.  She seems to make new friends every time we go out. I also went out on Sat night without her because some times you just need to go out without having to babysit her outside all night. It gives me a chance to talk with friends that stay inside pretty much all night. It was an enjoyable evening…

I’m looking at my work desk and I realize that it is a complete mess. It looks like a war zone has hit it. I guess I need to clean it off and be better organized or at least make it look like it. I guess I’ll put that on my to do list for this week! J

At the top of this post for the past few days I have been using it to display my retirement countdown… today is – 282 Days… But I just realized that my D-Day will be sooner actually since I plan on trying to save some of my vacation time to use when I retire so I don’t have to come back into the office after the upcoming holiday break in December.  With this plan maybe I will able to allow me to take a little longer than I have in the past for the holidays.

I gotta start brining in my lunch to work. Eating off the catering truck daily is getting expensive. $5.00 for a California burger, which is nothing more than a small burger patty, cheese, bacon, tomato and lettuce, and Avocado.  It is just too expensive to be eating there every day.  I guess I’ll start making some sandwiches and brown bag them in to save some cash. I have already cut down drastically from going to the local watering hole during the week, much to Snoopy’s apparent disappointment.  She likes to socialize with everyone when she is out and about in the city.

It's always the same thing with Snoopy...Animal Planet!

1. For What It’s Worth

We are going to do our Back Roads tour of the US starting in early 2015, and we would like to visit people along our travel route if possible.

As we get closer and closer to our departure we will have a better idea when we will be in what area to be able to get together, maybe for a couple of days, who knows?

For those of you interested, we will need your current address so we can plug it into our travel itinerary and mapping software. If you plan on moving before then, please let us know if that happens, okay?

Since we have friends scattered all over this great land, we would like to hear from you folks, and the sooner the better for all of our planning efforts.  We would hate to drive right by some of you not knowing we just missed seeing some of our good friends.  Mind you that we will have my dog Snoopy with us. I can’t hit the road without my copilot is her seat!  That was the main reason I rescued her in the first place was to keep me company while we were on the road! J

I really love my music.  It always pulls me out of a funk and gives me such great energy to make it through the day.  I love some technology such as iPods, DVRs, smartphones and of course the Internet.  I hate when I get stuck on how to do something with it though. Thank goodness for the younger generation that can help me with it all.

Yesterday I went on Classmates.com, which I have not been on for several years. I had some messages, one from my recent ex telling me things I wish she was telling me now, a message from one of our guys I went through basic training with, and a few from former co-workers from years ago. It was nice hearing from them all, but I kinda felt bad that I did not know or respond that punctually. I had no idea really that anyone had sent me any messages. Too bad I was tardy with my replies. 1.     For What It’s Worth                                                                                - 285 Days

Getting a late start on today’s blog post; I guess I got tied up doing other things. I usually try to get it started early in the day so I can go back and populate it with tidbits here and there, but not today so far. Now I gotta try to catch up a bit.

I have people always asking me about Linus and how it is to travel or camp in him. They always want to see his interior and all the cool amenities that he possesses. For those of you that are maybe interested, you can take a tour by going to this website below and just click on the video in the middle of the page.

It is not exactly the same as Linus, since they all vary just a little, but they are basically pretty much the same.  Take the narrated tour and see for yourself how practical and comfortable they can be for a road trip or just a weekend of camping. You can sleep where and when you want, don’t have to worry about getting home too late, and can have an enjoyable trip no matter where you end up.

“All journeys have secret destinations of which the traveler is unaware.”  No truer words have ever been said, especially if you are travelling in a VW Microbus.  And you will be surprised the people who wave, smile, or shoot you a peace sign or a maybe a “Shaka Brah” surfer greeting sign.  It is an instant conversation starter, no matter if you are at the grocery store or just getting petrol at the corner gas station, so be ready for it.  I’m sure that does not happen to the pickup truck driver or the person driving the new minivan. It is an RV and it is not an RV. It is the best of both worlds really. Drive one for the weekend or a short road trio and you will see what I mean and have an experience you will never forget. Trust me, it will be an eye opener, for sure.  Just try it once and you will see and experience it for yourself!

1. For What It’s Worth

I usually have something that I want to write, but today I got nothing. I guess I could just stare at my laptop screen and hope Apple can come through and write it for me. Don’t they have an app for Writer’s Block also?

I guess 30 years ago this week is when the movie The Breakfast Club was released.  That is the term I refer to for us that come in early to work.  We show up but not too bright or perky.  We basically drag our asses in here daily, just barely able to function until our first cup of coffee. On my second cup currently!  J

Eleven. It is my lucky number.  I am not sure how lucky it has been, but that is my birthdate, my jersey numbers, race car number; it is the number I choose to wear or to be identified with. My California license plate for my Carrera is “11 CAR”, because it is one more than a ten. (A significant reference to, This Is Spinal Tap). J  I don’t know why I decided to mention this, but it took up some empty space on my computer screen.  Sometimes I just write down stuff, ya know? J

I have been slacking on practicing my guitar this past week.  Tonight I need to get back with the program so I can learn at least two chords each week.  I would like to get another acoustic guitar so I can take it on the road with us.  Just a cheap one, maybe $100 or so investment. It’s not like I can take my electric guitar on the road and just plug in my amp anywhere.

I would really have to know you really good before I would travel with anyone on the open road for any amount of time in tight quarters, because I can be a real pain.  So I appreciate the feedback we have received from all our friends, but our traveling companion list will be pretty limited due to the lengths of the routes we plan on taking. I kinda doubt we will be accepting any female travelers unless we have known each other for a really long time due to the tight quarters, etc.  I know guys can go for a couple of days without a warm shower, plus it could be an awkward situation that I really don’t want to have to deal with.  Sorry my female peeps, nothing personal. L

With that being said, let’s hear from you guys what you might want to do.
