For What It’s
Worth
The other day I finally restrung my electric guitar and
began practicing on it again. It has
been quite a while and all my callouses on my fingertips have gotten soft and
need to be built up once again. I plan
to learn at least one new chord each week, then I will have a nice library of
chords learned by the end of the year. I
am going to continue to practice as much as I can to get proficient playing. I
wish I could set up my drum kit, but I bet my neighbors would just hate that,
eh?
Some of you may know that I have been battling with joint
issues and associated medical conditions
such as Osgood’s Slaughter, Arthritis, Rheumatism, a torn MCL in my knee,
fractured Tibia, shattered knee cap, and Degenerative Disc Disease, all
basically starting around the age of 11.
My poor Mom had to take me to all the doctors seemingly nonstop when I
was a kid. In fact, my joint specialist,
Dr Milo, gave me my first really good tennis racquet (Wilson T 2000) when I was
just playing tennis about a year or so.
He and I used to play tennis together and he was my favorite doctor of
all time. He and my back doctor, Dr Acord, were the most gentle and awesome
doctors I have ever had, and I have had more than a few in my life. I am thankful to have had them because they
really took great care of me.
Anyway, the back of my right hand began hurting this
morning. This has been happening for such a long time but it had not acted up
for a long time. I basically can’t hold
onto anything in my right hand. I had to
quit and forfeit a few tennis matches in the past when this condition flared
up. It is painful and you have no
ability to hold onto anything tightly what so ever. Anyway, it has been acting
up today so I thought I would mention it to you all… like a whiny little kid… wahhh!
Early this morning about 2AM the police helicopter was
circling overhead for about two hours nonstop.
I got up and went outside to see what I could. I saw the police had blocked off the street
with their cars and there were some very bright lights down at the intersection
of Sepulveda and Maple Ave here in El Segundo, California. Looking online for
details but see nothing. Oh well, I’m
sure I’ll find out later!

Even though Linus is only a two-wheel drive
vehicle, with it’s high clearance and torsion bar suspension, it can go
off-road almost as many places that a 4-wheel drive vehicle can! I suspect we will be trying that capability
on our back roads road trip!
