Happy birthday
to my good buddy Joe! I hope you have a
great day, my friend! Go Angels!
Every day will be a new adventure for us, that is for
sure! Finding out what is around the
next curve or over the next hill is an adventure like no other. The thrill of
the hunt, the unexpected find that is out there or the adventure you did not
expect to be as awesome as it became. If
there is some roadside attraction, let’s go check it out. If there is some
historical marker off the road, it’s a good time to get out and stretch our
legs a bit. Roadside attractions such as the world’s largest ball of string;
yeah, I want to see it. All that campy stuff is all good. This trip is all
about the journey and not the destinations. I imagine the people we will meet
will also be memorable.
Traveling in a VW Bus is also an ice-breaker and
conversation starter, just as it has been for the past 9 years. Driving a VW Bus is an experience just by
itself. I had a friend once drive it
because I had some beers that interacted with some of my meds and I didn’t feel
right, so my buddy got to drive it for a few miles (see featured photo). He
asked me why were people waving at him and I told him that is what a VW bus
does to people. It makes them smile and want to acknowledge it for what it is…
a lovable icon! All you have to do is drive it for a few miles to learn this
out all for yourself. When you pass another one traveling in the opposite
direction, expect a wave, peace sign or the traditional surfer Shaka Brah sign.
Don’t take my word for it, drive a bus just one time to become a true believer.
Can you tell we are pretty stoked about getting out there
and exploring this great land of ours? J
