1. For What It’s Worth                                                              - 196 Days and counting

Road Trip Thoughts & Ideas (New feature)

California
Where in the US would you go see if you have the time and ability to do so?  There are many things on our list that are right here in California.  California really does have it all. Beautiful beaches, multiple deserts, various mountain ranges, lush green valleys, amazing canyons, and breathtaking vistas every place you look.  I am continually awestruck with all the beauty and diversity that California has to offer.  We are truly spoiled living in this wonderland of everything great in the US. After living here for about 35 years, I do consider myself to be a Californian, even though I believe that Chicago is by far the best metropolis I have ever been to in the entire world.  California taxes, the freeway traffic and the automobile smog checks are some of the few detriments that California has, but you have to take the good with the bad I guess.

National and State Parks in California
There are quite a few National Parks here in California.  We have Yosemite Nat’l Park, Sequoia Nat’l Park, Kings Canyon Nat’l Park, as well as Lassen Volcanic Nat’l Park, Pismo Beach (A beach you can drive on and camp on) and Lava Beds Nat’l Monument.  We also have Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley for some serious wineries that can take several weeks to explore! Then there are so many State Parks and Beaches to explore, we could be exploring for months just in California. I could spend a week easily in any one of the Yosemite, Sequoia or King’s Canyon National Parks and still not see it all. We do know that we will probably spend a lot of time at all three of these National Parks alone.
