Road Trip
Questions
I was wondering
the other day, how many days between showers can a guy go before he starts to
offend others, let alone himself? Will a
quick sponge bath suffice for a few days? We do have a solar shower purchased,
so we will not be that primitive. Also,
how long can I go between shampooing my hair?
Maybe I’ll just cut it really short and live with my ugliness? These questions I wonder about along with so
many other unknowns. I guess after a few
weeks out on the road we will have a better understanding of what we are
doing. My longest road trip was on a
motorcycle for 10 days way back in 1984, so we camped most of that time and
lived pretty sparingly. I guess it will
be trial by error and some on-the-job training.
We plan to take a few week-long road trips prior to our big trip so
maybe we will gain some more insight to these questions.

Old Glory and
Our Country
I fly our flag
everyday, and long before the 9/11 tragedy ruined my birthday forever. I did
this because I have been to many other countries serving my country and I know
what we have. I'm not the ignorant simpleton who claims we are the best country
in the world with nothing to compare it to. Traveling to other countries
removes ignorance, prejudices and racism and a person also gains tolerance of
others. Travel abroad before you claim to know something you do not know. I hate flag wavers just because we’re
‘Merica, stupid yahoos.
Every
residence in my town has a flag displayed on Independence Day due to an
individual who goes around the night before and places a flag in everyone’s
yard, as an advertisement. It is a nice
idea and that has been happening since I moved to this town back in 2006.
We can be the
best country again, not for the pride we can wear like a Medal of Honor, but
for the compassion that can grow in out hearts for others.

Sunglasses
Recently I
treated myself to some nice new Ray Ban sunglasses a green lens pair and a blue
lens pair. I couldn't find my new blue lens pair on Saturday or yesterday even
and I was wondering if I maybe left them in the car service I use when I go out
drinking. I searched for them again yesterday afternoon to no avail. As I was
thinking about where I might have left them or maybe dropped them, I thought to
myself, maybe I should check Snoopy's carrier (her box). So I look in there and
there they were in the back still in their Ray Ban storage case. Not sure what
the case is made of, but she did not chew on the case at all. So now I will
keep them out of reach high up on a bookcase shelf where she can't get to them.
That is like the third time in three weeks that I thought I had lost them. Here she found a way to punish Her Butler in
a very smart way. Smart dog! I guess I should never underestimate the
power of the Snoopmeister! I guess that
is why I am Her Butler and she is in charge of my life.
