Tuesday…
Congratulations to Jeff H for winning yesterday’s music
trivia contest. He received a shot of
Fireball whiskey last night for his correct response, the Dave Matthew’s Band
(DMB). Apparently the clue of the tour bus driver illegally dumping their waste
tank gave it away. I was afraid that or the initials would give the answer
away. Nice job, Jeff! Keep playing!
Going backwards in reverse chronological order, the bands
were…
Curtis Mayfield (Superfly)
Creedance Clearwater Revival (CCR)
Cream
Counting Crows
The Clash
Chickenfoot
Chicago
Cheap Trick
Sad to see such a small amount of players lately… L
Today’s music trivia band was the real first heavy metal
rock & roll band that I was exposed to thanks to the local hippie brothers
who lived a few houses away from my house in the early 70s. Their heavy metal
sound and strong guitar riffs are still imitated today. The heavy bass notes
played in order were the first notes played by many wannabee guitarists. Songs
such as, “My Woman from Tokyo”, “Space Truckin”, “Highway Star”, and their
signature song, “Smoke on the Water” made them a familiar sound on the radio
airwaves. Can you name this heavy metal
band?
Going to an Orthopedic Specialist this afternoon to have
another doctor’s opinion regarding my torn Right knee injury that happened over
a year ago. The Ortho doc I saw last
year did nothing but give me a cortisone shot and send me to PT once
again. Well, I don’t want to wait until
it heals on its own, which may never happen, so I’m seeing another doctor at
another medical facility for a second opinion.
The first doctor was happy to do nothing and let me live in pain. After a year of doing that, I am electing to
try another route myself. Keep your
fingers crossed!
I really want my former life back. Happy at work, happy at home, happy in
health, happy in society, happy in soul.
Going through all this mess all at once is kind of overwhelming at
times. I have a terrible feeling it is
going to get much worse before it gets any better. Can’t a brother get a break around here? I understand why people get so depressed and
go off the deep end in life. Sometimes
there appears to be no light at the end of the tunnel for the mess we get into.
When life throws us obstacles, you have to keep trying not to get any major
hits. These past few weeks I have been knocked down so many times, it is
getting harder and harder to get back up on my feet.
Too much on my mind to keep on writing. Trying not to vent on you, my peeps, but it
is hard when you become overwhelmed. I
hope to continue to post this blog but it may come down to survival mode for
me. I really don’t feel the motivation
to continue on, so we will see what happens.
As Snoopy says… Wag More, Bark Less…
Until next time… Be Good!
